Kenyon K-Bikes
We're the Bike Barn, a bicycle co-op where students and community members can come to get a bike, to repair your bike, to learn how to wrench on a bike, to volunteer, or just to say hi 👋! Come visit our 2000 sq. ft. facility nestled in Gambier!

Shop Services
Fix Your Bike
We have the tools and the know-how to help you fix your own bike. We don't do full repair services, but we can give you the knowledge to be able to maintain your own bike. We only ask for $10/hour of shop time.
Parts
We sell parts like tires and tubes, all at lower prices than retail. We can also get parts from special suppliers at discounted rates.
Sales
Our team of volunteers clean, fix, and tunes donated bicycles to be sold.
Donate
Have a usable or fixable adult bicycle that you no longer use or need? Visit us during shop hours to rehome your bike and give it a second lease on life! We will fix it or part it out for other patrons to use. If needed, we can provide you with a donation receipt.
Volunteer
We run on volunteer power. No experience needed, just a great attitude! You'll go through an orientation, then be paired with a lead mechanic.
Bicycle Registration
Kenyon student bicycle registration is optional for the 2024-25 academic year, and it will become mandatory in the 2025-26 academic year. By registering your bike, we'll keep information on your bike on-file in case it's ever stolen. Soon, it'll be required to use the bicycle shelters. Don't worry, though: bicycle registration is free to get and to renew!

Donation Guidelines
We rely on the generosity of our community to continue to offer our services and programs. Your monetary donations cover the cost of new parts, new tools, and bike refurbishing. We also use funds for parts and tools for our free classes and community programs.
At the current time, we are unable to offer electronic payment solutions for donations.
- We gladly accept donations any time we are open.
- When you bring your bikes or parts, we will evaluate them and come up with a donation value. We can provide you a donation receipt.
- We do not buy or trade for items - a donation is a donation, so we won't give you money in exchange for you giving us stuff.
- We accept most bikes and parts; bikes in poor condition are stripped for usable parts and recycle the rest.
- We do not accept obviously broken individual parts, since parts recycling is not something we offer. If your derailleur cage is terribly mangled out-of-shape, we probably won't take it.
Questions
What kind of bikes do you have?
It depends on what time of year it is. Most of our bikes would make good campus or commuter bikes and are hybrid or mountain-style bikes.
I'm a faculty member/community member/local resident. Can I still come to the Kenyon Bike Barn?
Yes! The Bike Barn serves the greater Gambier and Knox County community, not just Kenyon students! We'd love to see you!
Can you fix my bike?
We don't over repair services, since this is a co-op, but we can help you fix your own bike! We believe learning and continuously improving are important traits.
Do you give away bikes?
With little exception, no. If your financial circumstances are extenuating, we offer an earn-a-bike program where volunteer time you put into the Bike Barn can be used to get a bike.
